Standard Features

Used in combination with MEDITECH's Microbiology application, the Pharmacy application provides an Antibiotic/Microbiology report that points out any antibiotics currently prescribed to patients, which are resistant to identified organisms.

Linked to the Materials Management application, the Pharmacy application helps an organization track expenses and inventory more closely.

Patient Demographic Data
The application gives users the flexibility to collect and update a patient's demographic data on-line in order to maintain accurate census records. Census reports accurately reflect a patient's location and track patient movement with multiple transfer and discharge reports. Functional routines include:
• Edit and display of demographic data
• Automatic transfer of patient's height, weight, allergies, and other details from the Order Entry application
• Ability to define multiple Patient Profile types.

• Allows users to define table orders or order by protocol
• Displays the profile for the identified patient and active medications
• Updates a patient's active profile and refill lists
• Checks for drug interactions, drug allergies, incompatible I.V. ingredients, and duplicate medication orders
• Discontinues medication orders by the clock and not by the refill list

• Checks newly-entered medication allergies against existing medication orders
• Documents Adverse Drug Reactions on the patient record independently of allergies.
